Ueli Gut of Switzerland, already known for his crazy Skeleton-style riding, has made the headlines again; this time posting a new world record for speed on a Dirtsurfer of 135.69kph!!! Ueli was able to achieve this incredible speed on a modified Dirtsurfer which he rode Skeleton-style on the snow down an 89% grade slope on a mountain in Austria during Xtreme Week!! Xtreme Week is an annual event held at Goldeck - Seetal Austria (K+¦rnten) in which skiers and other speed freaks attempt to break world records for speed down the steep icy slope. While most inline boarders ride sidestance like a snowboarder, surfer, skateboarder, etc. and this is the only style of riding currently sanctioned for inline boarding (Dirtsurfer) races, many riders are excited about the possibility of a Skeleton class sometime in the future. Can you imagine heats of four riders racing down a paved course, all head first?!!! Congratulations Ueli! You've defiitely taken this to a whole new level!
